Installation

apt-get install fail2ban


Configuration

Edit the configuration file

vim /etc/fail2ban/jail.conf


Default (generic) properties

  • In "ignoreip" add your LAN + VPN networks
  • Adjust "bantime" and "findtime"

Enable and adjust:

  • SSH
  • SSH-DDOS
  • SSH-iptables-*
