Windows
Tortoise SVN is the best client available, see http://tortoisesvn.tigris.org/
!! During installation, don't forget to install the svn command line tools !!
Linux
Command line client
apt-get install subversion subversion-tools
Then you can use the svn command:
- svn co --username=yourUserName --password=yourpassword http://path-to-your-svn
- svn add file
- svn commit -m "my revision comment"
Thunar integration
RabbitVCS => Like tortoise SVN
# Add new repo and install application
add-apt-repository ppa:rabbitvcs/ppa
apt-get update
apt-get install rabbitvcs-cli rabbitvcs-core rabbitvcs-gedit rabbitvcs-nautilus3 rabbitvcs-thunar

Meld is a good SVN merge tool.
Checkout their website: http://meldmerge.org/
- Windows: download and install the binaries from the official website
- Linux:
apt-get install meld
You can create a new icon on your Linux icon desktop:
cp /usr/share/applications/meld.desktop ~/Desktop/
chmod 755 ~/Desktop/meld.desktop
